SAG Awards: Amber Heard in Zac Posen

I don't feel like I have to say much in this post. The title pretty much says it all. Amber Heard you absolute FOX.

SAG Awards: The Glee Girls

Lea Michele (Atelier Versace), Jayma Mays (Reem Acra) and Naya Rivera (Naeem Khan) all looked super sexy on the red carpet yesterday.

Everyone who has seen pictures from last night is RAVING about Lea Michele, and I can see why. She was a knockout in her couture gown. The colour is amazing on her and the cut could not be more perfect if it tried. My ONLY problem is with her ‘ooh look at the split in my dress’ posing she managed to do all the way up the red carpet. We get it Lea, you’re SO hot, you don’t need to rub it in. Please. Now excuse me whilst I go cry and then find my pilates DVD... P.S. does anyone else think she is the spitting image of J.Lo when you squint a bit?

SAG Awards: Pale and Interesting

Moving on from a rainbow of colour to something more light and airy for you now. The biggest trend of the night was the one I’m going to dub ‘Pale and Interesting’, as muted colours were the pick of the evening for many stylists.

Kaley Cuoco (Romona Keveza) looked like a fluffy princess in her mint green gown. I have a feeling that this look will divide opinion much like SMG’s Golden Globes dress. For the record, I love it! And her Heidi braid.

Octavia Spencer (Tadashi Shoji) looked stunning in her dove grey toga influenced dress. She has worn Tadashi Shoji looks all throughout awards season and looks amazing whilst doing so. It’s very refreshing to see a high end designer create something for a woman who is not a size 2.

I LOVE Rose Byrne’s (Elie Saab) pure white jumpsuit, but I’m not keen on the hair. I can imagine Tilda Swinton in this, although I’m sure she would pull it off in a much different style.

And finally we have Sarah Hyland in a pale pink/ cream embellished gown. I love how simple the cut of this dress is, very feminine and very pretty. I always look out for Sarah on the red carpet, she wears some gorgeous dresses.

SAG Awards: Colour Me Happy

Wow, an actual ARRAY of colours on the red carpet! Wonders will never cease. The Screen Actors Guild awards were held in Los Angeles last night, and I was shocked to see many actress venturing out of the comfort zone of black and/or tones of nude, and experiment with a splash of colour.

Of course there are a few who like to think outside the box when it comes to red carpet dressing, such as Dianna Agron (Carolina Herrera), Emily Blunt (Oscar De La Renta) and Shailene Woodley (L’Wren Scott), actresses who I am always excited to spot at these kinds of events.

Then we have the women who have been playing it safe recently, and who I was very excited to see in colour. Namely Michelle Williams (Valentino), but Jessica Chastain (Calvin Klein) also stepped it up for the SAGS after a hairstyle LETDOWN at the Globes, I can’t wait to see her at the OSCARS next month!

Taylor Swift's American Vogue Cover

Here we have it. Taylor Swift's American Vogue cover (February 2012), and accompanying photoshoot, has finally been released! And, WOW, doesn't she look amazing? I love the Brigette Bardot-esque cover! Her straight hair, floppy hat and smokey winged eyes look gorgeous. The inside shoot is just as good, it makes me want to watch Almost Famous whilst making daisy chains. I love the shot of Taylor lounging on the sofa in the Rodarte dress (the same dress we saw Elle Fanning in last week at the Critics Choice Awards).

What do you think of Taylor’s first American Vogue cover? Do you think that this is the best Taylor has ever looked?

Golden Globes 2012: My Favourites

I loooooved Zooey Deschanel's custom made Prada dress. The Golden Globe nominee (for Best Actress in a Comedy Series) paired her unique navy and green dress with a 60s bouffant 'do and liquid lined eyes. I love the crossed back of this dress (below). Cute and charming, just like Zooey. 10/10.

Emma Stone was back to her best last night. Surprisingly the label that let her down last time, was the label she chose again for the Golden Globes, as she was wearing a custom made Lanvin gown. The deep purple chiffon dress featured raspberry coloured sides, embellished shoulders and a belt with an eagle on it (yeah, I thought that was a bit random too). Her makeup is also miles better than it was the other night, as she reverted back to navy smokey eyes and a nude lip. A sexy thigh-high split added a little cheeky element to the funny girl's look. 9/10 (one point removed for the eagle randomness).

Lea Michele wore her favourite label, Marchesa, to the Golden Globes last night. Her embellished silver dress is a work of art, and fits her perfectly. you can tell that she's loving being centre of attention too. An updo and minimal jewellery was all tat was needed to complete the look. 10/10.

Nicole Richie continued her run of chic style choices in the silver sheath dress. I love her ponytail and full fringe too. Sliiightly too much jewellery for my taste, but overall a very good look. 9/10.

Golden Globes 2012: Let Downs

I'm going to try and keep this as short as possible, because some of my favourite actresses are in this post and I feel guilty.

Lets start with Jessica Chastain. I have no problems with her dress, which is Givenchy Couture, but her Dolly Parton-esque hair really lets the look down. This is the Golden Globes, not the Country Music Awards. An up-do would have been majorly prefered.

Next is Mila Kunis. Goddess Mila, why have you reverted to black? I thought you had finally embraced colour (and a smile) but I feel like you just took a huge step backwards. Maybe you were contractually obliged to wear this Christian Dior dress, but you should have asked for it in colour. Or at leat added a pop of colour via a clutch or a lipstick.

Unfortunately, as was the case with SMG, Reese Witherspoon was let down by too much fabric. This time, the extra fabric was gathered at the foot of the dress. I understand that the petite 5'1" actress will have trouble trying to find gowns that fit her, but she is REESE WITHERSPOON for crying out loud, one of the (if not the) highest paid Hollywood actresses. If Jason Wu wanted his gown to be on the best dressed lists, you'd have thought that he'd have taken the gown up by about a foot. On the other hand, I love her beachy hair.

Golden Globes 2012: That Reminds Me...

Jessica Biel's (above) Elie Saab look from last night's red carpet was beautiful. The nude lace dress, which featured a train and a front split, is one of my favourites from the night. But, don't you think it looks extremely similar to Leighton Meester's Burberry Prorsum dress from last year's Golden Globes (below)? Nevertheless, Jessica looks beautiful. I just need to see a close up of her hand to see whether Justin has really put a ring on it...

Golden Globes 2012: Blushing Beauties

Another colour trend of the night (and at every red carpet event since late 2010) was shades of nude.

Charlize Theron looked as amazing as always in her Christian Dior gown. The colour and hairstyle made the look cute, but the plunging neckline and front split kept it sexy.

Heidi Klum managed to pull something off that she usually fails at. She attended a major red carpet event without looking overdone. A round of applause for Heidi I think, especially after last year's Golden Globes appearance.

Jessica Alba looked beautiful in a pale lilac embroidered gown. How do these celebrities do it, she had a child about 5 minutes ago and she already looks like that!? Oh to have access to the world's best chefs and personal trainers...

Kate Beckinsale provides proof of the motto "If it aint broke, don't fix it" here. The actress loves herself a strapless, fishtail hemmed, slightly bridal gown. But when you have the body to pull it off, why the hell not? Another question, is it wrong that I really want to go see the new Underworld film?

Kristen Wiig looked simple and chic in her halter dress. The colour and style really suit her, but I have a slight problem with her hair. Does anyone else think it's too dark?

Sarah Hyland always seems to get it right on the red carpet. Some might say that this look is a little too grown up for such a young actress, but I think she looks fantastic. A mature and elegant choice from the Modern Family starlet.

Golden Globes 2012: A Splash of Colour

Dianna Agron

Natalie Portman

Stacy Keibler

Angelina Jolie

I always love when there's some interesting colour at a red carpet event.

Dianna Agron makes interesting choices for events such as these, and I this is no exception. I love the red lace, as I've said before, I'm a sucker for a blonde in red.

Natalie Portman's is another dress that is getting mixed reviews, but I love the Marilyn Monroe Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend reference.

Stacy Keibler (AKA George Clooney's latest hot girlfriend) looked showstoppingly sexy in a simple red Valentino dress, I love the bow detail on the back.

And finally, I'll give credit where credit is due, Angelina Jolie looked amazing in this Versace gown. I'm not really an Angelina fan but when she wears something that isn't plain black or white I'm interested, so the flash of red from her collar, lips and clutch got my seal of approval (which is obviously better than getting an actual Golden Globe).

Golden Globes 2012: A Sea of Blue & Green

Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci Premiere

Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Tilda Swinton

Emma Roberts

Helen Mirren

Following on from SMG's blue printed gown, here are a few more actresses who wore hues of blue and green at the Golden Globes last night.
My favourites here are Tilda Swinton and Emma Roberts. I love the light blue colour and the addition of a tailored jacket to Tilda's look, she always does her own thing on the red carpet, which I love. I love the details on Emma's dress, and again she has chosen a navy hue, which looks goregeous on her.

Golden Globes 2012: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Yes or No?

I'm going to start my Golden Globes coverage by defending Sarah Michelle Gellar. Yes, yes, I know, you hate this dress. It's the worst dress you've ever seen on the red carpet. Your eyes are offended. But I don't care what you say, I love Sarah Michelle Gellar, and so I love her dress.
The blue and white smoke print gown is by Monique Lhuillier, a label I like to think of as a less embellished Marchesa. I think the main reason people are hating this look is because it swamps SMG's petite frame, too much fabric for a little person. But she looks like she's loving it, look how gorgeously smiley she is!
SMG told reporters on the red carpet that her 2 year old daughter picked the dress for her to wear. Well, bless her heart for making her little girl happy. There have been far worse disasters on the red carpet for no reason at all.

W Magazine's Pre-Golden Globes Party

Thankfully, other's faired better at the W magazine party.

The rumoured future Mrs Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, looked as gorgeous as ever in a shimmering gold sheath dress. Her hair, which I wasn't fond of when she first dyed it darker, also looked gorgeous in polished but loose waves. I'd hate her for stealing my man, but when she looks this beautiful I can't really blame the Trousersnake for choosing her. Even I'd try it on with her looking like this.

Emmy Rosum, who stars in America's version of Shameless, looked like a beautiful ballerina in a silvery-grey pleated dress. I love the addition of colour via her bright red satin pumps. Very chic for someone who plays America's version of a council estate dweller.

Miranda Kerr (and her enviable body) look fantastic in a white satin cocktail dress. Can you believe that she had a baby less than a year ago?! Them right there are some good genes. The bouncy waves and red lipstick add to Miranda's Hollywood vibe.

Emma Roberts was photographed outside the venue arriving at the party. Her backless long satin dress, which look black on some pictures and navy in others, made Emma look very grown up. She is also sporting one of the biggest hair trends amongst celebrities at the moment, The Lob (aka the long bob).
I think this might be one of my favourite red carpet looks so far from Elizabeth Olsen. The Proenza Schouler dress and over-the-shoulder plait make Elizabeth look cute and sexy. And can I just say I LOVE that this Olsen SMILES! She makes me melt with her charming chops.
