GLEE for GQ

I really can’t decide whether I love or hate these pictures? In the new issue of GQ (not sure if it’s the British or American version as yet) the stars of GLEE, Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith, have been shot by Terry Richardson. (For the record, my favourite images are the tenth and last).

Before I even read who had been behind the camera on this shoot I knew it had been TR, his signature is all over these. His pictures are blatantly perverted, and, at the risk of sounding like a 60 year-old Daily Mail reader, they sometimes make me feel uncomfortable. I think that could be to do with the allegations that were brought up against him earlier in the year, where a few models came forward (anonymously) and told of how they were practically molested by the photographer. This is why I think some people can never fully decide whether to love or loathe Richardson, one minute the photos are creepy and try hard, then the next they make you feel quite…aroused?

His photographic style does nothing to help discard the idea of him being a sexual predator. But maybe that is the appeal to so many people? Looking at his overtly sexual pictures could release something in people that they may only otherwise get through reading Nuts or watching porn?

Anyway, I’m going to stop discussing these like an OAP and let you make up your mind for yourself.

What do you think of Terry Richardson?
